CE marking for products from China
Products coming into the EU from abroad require a special certification that guarantees that the product meets the requirements and specifications of the EU. This certification is called CE marking and has a specific seal that is clearly visible on the products. Customers must ensure that the seal is genuine and not a fake, as many products are labeled with false CE certifications.
In China in particular, a false CE certification called "China Export" is often used, which can be recognized by a smaller distance between the C and E symbols. However, this supposedly incorrect CE mark on a product does not automatically mean that the goods do not meet the requirements.
This is because many products with incorrect labeling comply with EU requirements and only the wrong symbol has been affixed to the products. Exactly why this happens is unclear. Presumably due to a lack of knowledge about CE certification or misunderstanding. If you produce in China yourself, you should therefore make sure that the goods comply with EU requirements and that the correct mark is clearly visible together with the corresponding identification number. The products receive this identification number from the EU during the inspection and the CE mark is only really valid together with this number. This is because the identification number indicates that the manufacturer not only knows the CE directives, but that compliance with them has been checked by the EU and confirmed.
